Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Review
- Fingerprint scanner to improve security
- High capacity battery that gives it long battery life
- Tough and stylish metal case
Despite being a budget phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes with a wide range of attractive features that make it hard to fit the phone in the budget category. In fact, a quick look at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro specs will show that the only element that you can use to place this phone in the budget category is the low price tag. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro release date came early in February 2016, just one month after it was announced in January. It comes in a choice of two storage options: the 16GB version with 2GB RAM and the 32GB version with 3GB RAM. When it comes to appearance, you can also take your pick from one of three colors: gray, silver or gold.
What is the screen resolution ?
The 5.5 inch IPS capacitive LCD touchscreen comes with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, which means that you can be able to view your images in full HD resolution. The pixel density is also not disappointing for its price since you will get approximately 403 pixels per inch on the screen. It is a multi-touch screen that is able to accept gestures done using more than one finger.
What is the battery life ?
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes with a high capacity 4000 mAh battery that is capable of supplying enough juice to keep the device running for quite a while. While this is not the most impressive number on the smartphone market, it is very impressive when compared to other phones of its size and budget.
How long does its battery last?
Without any large load such as Wi-Fi and cellular data, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro can be able to deliver up to 15 hours and 52 minutes of battery life. With Wi-Fi and cellular data on, the battery can produce up to 8 hours of use. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro battery life is a good thing when you put the charging time into consideration. This phone takes a little over an hour to get to the 50% mark and close to 2 hours 30 minutes to fully charge. Although these are not very bad numbers, they are equivalent to the first generation Quick Charge. This could have been improved. However, it’s still not a deal breaker.
What is the sound and video quality ?
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro comes with a 16MP primary camera that comes with a dual tone LED flash. This camera is capable of capturing 1080p videos at 30 frames per second which is quite impressive when you consider the low Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro price. The secondary camera is a 5MP camera that is also able to capture 1080p video.
Conclusion: Should I buy it ?
If you are looking for something close to a top end device but you don’t have the money to afford it, this is the device that you should go for. It comes with very impressive specifications with a very affordable price tag. From security features like the fingerprint sensors to the overall premium feel offered by the metal case, you will not regret buying this phone. However, it does have some bit of software issues hence it’s advisable to first run an update before you start using the phone.
